Pier Giorgio often went to Cottolengo to visit the patients. His visits are particularly remembered for the sweetness and delicacy with which he addressed disabled children, without retreating in the face of the greatest suffering. Father Alfredo wanted to remember his son's charity inside Cottolengo by building an entire pavilion dedicated to Pier Giorgio in 1927. Now inside there is also a church dedicated to him.
