We welcomed with joy the decision of the Holy Father Leo XIV to set the canonization of Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati for next September 7, together with Blessed Carlo Acutis.
Pier Giorgio's canonization represents a significant moment for the entire Catholic Action, and his figure is an example for generations of young and adult lay people committed to the Church and the world. As Pope Leo XIV recalled: “His simple and luminous life reminds us that, just as no one is born a champion, so no one is born a saint.” (Homily for the Jubilee of Sport, 15 June 2025).
The Eucharistic celebration with the rite of canonization will be presided over by Pope Leo XIV and will be held in Saint Peter Square starting at hours 10,00.
For the occasion, we have also planned two other events focusing on culture and spirituality, on Saturday, September 6th in Rome.
Please note that participation is free and that travel arrangements and any accommodation and meal requirements must be made independently by each participant or group.
